Art of the Medicine Wo/Man features the artistry of physicians throughout the world. The modern men and women of medicine have devoted their lives to healing others through evidence-based practice, meaning the use of modern, best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.
Psychobiologist and Nobel Prize winner Roger W. Sperry theorized that the left hemisphere of the brain is responsible for analytical methodical thinking, while the right side of the brain is responsible for creativity and artistry.
The following pages are devoted to the artistic creations of the men and women of medicine. We hope you enjoy delving into the creative mind of these healers.
I am mostly retired also. My wife and I are living in Lawrence, Kansas. Enjoy your retirement. You have earned!! Take care.
Dr Yungst,
It has been a pleasure being your patient. Thru my various foot needs lazer treatments (heal and toes) and a toe repair surgery you were always there. I think back to you coming into the Beneva office one Saturday afternoon for me years ago which was very appreciated as you handled my issue with care. My best to you and your beautiful family in any future endeavors. Loved all the beautiful art, please enjoy your retirement! Susie
Congratulations on your retirement (the “real work” begins now.) Thank you for the care you have provided over the years. I’ve enjoyed our conversations about our children and grandchildren as they have always been our greatest joys. Blessings to you and your family in the future. Sue
Wishing you the best Dr Yungst! Thank you for your excellent work. Time to smell the roses. Sandra Cullen
Dr Yungst, you have seen me through so much medically and compassionately. Two surgeries, a broken foot, three severe ankle sprains later….we both agreed I am just a clutz. You treated my plantar fasciitis with the shock wave procedure that cured it. You sat with me after my husband passed and listened. That’s who you are as an honorable man. I am so happy for you in the next chapter of your life. You deserve to shine your light to all those you meet. You have transformed the patients you treated over the years by not only medically, but by gifting us with the world of humanity through your eyes. And oh the things you have shown us. May God walk you and your family through this new chapter with love, happiness and kindness. You are one of the good people my friend. You have taught us the true meaning of caring for people with heart and dedication for the greater good of this country and beyond its borders. Good luck and enjoy life Dr Yungst with your loved ones. And thank you!
You will be missed Dr. Yungst. Enjoy your retirement & take lots of fantastic photos.
Dr Yungst, I was sad to hear this news but was expecting it so I’m very happy for you. You have earned your retirement and deserve it. Best to retire while you’re healthy and mobile so you can enjoy it. Thanks for helping me so much with my issues over the years. Best wishes! Jackie Dickinson
